Once considered Pueblo’s Red-Light District, this historically significant shopping area boasts 83 buildings on the National Historic Register. Historic Arkansas Riverwalk
Dine, stroll or enjoy a boat or gondola ride along this river-inspired park. After a devastating flood in 1921, the Arkansas River was diverted to a different location. The Historic Arkansas Riverwalk commemorates the river’s original location with history, public art, interactive fountains, and great events. The international headquarters for the Professional Bull Riders Association also saddles up along the Riverwalk.
El Pueblo History Museum & The Song of Pueblo
Pueblo used to sit right along the Mexican-American border and El Pueblo was its original trading fort. This museum captures the spirit of fandangos and multicultural living that marked this moment in Pueblo history, before it was destroyed by a Christmas Day Massacre. El Pueblo History Museum also hosts regular performances of Song of Pueblo, an oratorio written by famed Daniel Valdez, to musically narrate the history of Pueblo.
